A tour guide is a profession that requires a licence from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) Malaysia to lead tours within the country of Malaysia. Malaysia has been recognised as one of the top tourism destinations in the world. Therefore, the career of a tour guide has a bright future with the current country policy that keeps on attracting tourists from all around the world. The participant is required to complete the portfolio assessment, theory examination, and practical examination. The practical examination consists of an oral session, a slide presentation, and infographic route commentary. The participant is required to pass the assessment by the internal verifier of the centre (PPD), external verifier (PPL), and MOTAC exam at the same time in order to obtain the license. The candidate will be able to choose the language for the practical assessment.
